Instructions for using this Inventory - Valuation Sheet for trains,
accessories, catalogs, books, photos, railroad memorabilia, etc.
List only one gauge per
sheet. Note:
Place this information at the upper left corner of this form in the
space provided.
All entries must be typed, or printed in ink. If you make a mistake, cross it off and go to
next line.
Sign ONLY the last page, and note the number of
pages in upper right hand corner of each page.
Catalogs: Write
the word CATALOGS on the Gauge Line, enter the manufacturer, and use only
Columns 1, 6, 7 and 9.
In
Column 1, give year and brief description, such as color, black and white
(b/w), consumer, dealer, pocket, etc.
Complete
Columns 6, 7, and 9: Column 7 would be used for “missing cover”, etc.
Updating or upgrading
values: Must be done on same form, and
signed. Do not mix additions/deletions
on same sheet.
Column 1: Give
brief name of item, such as Scale Switcher, GG-1, boxcar, passenger car,
station, signal.
Show wheel arrangement on locos, number of wheels on cars.
When
listing sets, use the word SET followed by the components thereof.
Column 2: Manufacturer’s
number; 400E, 746, 6464-450, 3251, etc.
Column 3: Color
– Abbreviate if necessary. Be sure the
abbreviation is understandable.
Column 4: Original
- OR; Refinished - RF
Column 5: If
item has a herald/road name, identify such as B&O, GN, SF, etc.
Column 6: Complete
in accordance with TCA Description Standards:
M-Mint; LN-Like New; E-Excellent; G-Good; F-Fair; P-Poor
Column 7: Show any variation making the item
significantly more valuable, such as brass model, scratch built model, road
name, color, truck type, decals, etc. or cite the column that shows the
increase in value.
Column 8: List
any parts missing and non-original replacements – except minor motor parts and
wheels.
Column 9: In
whole dollars, show the value you set on the item. Bracket components of SETS
to show Set value.
